Today's juice is brought to you by the produce: watermelon, pineapple, granny smith apples, blackberries, celery, carrots and kale. It doesn't look appetizing, but it's my favorite so far. I have to find more vegetables that are good for juicing because I'd like the base of the juice to be vegetable with a hint of fruit rather than the other way around. Even though today's juice is about 50/50, I'm still getting more vitamins and minerals than I would have otherwise. I am sure I wouldn't be able to eat the produce that went into this drink in a day...simply because it's not that appealing. However, in juice form, I feel like I'm getting a good-for-me punch that's easily digestible.
I didn't juice yesterday and I don't have a good reason why. I ate pizza instead. *sigh*
I've been apartment shopping online because my lease is up at the end of the year. Ideally, I'll find a nice studio within walking distance of a grocery store so I can make my juicing more of a daily thing. As it is now, I bought a ton of produce on Saturday during my weekly shop, but my kale is already semi-limp and my blackberries were on the verge of growing beards.
Also, no more juicing broccoli and cucumbers. I don't care for the flavor they give my juice. Instead, I'll steam my broccoli and seed/peel my cucumbers before I eat them for the least digestive interference.

Can you not juice Kale if it's gone limp? I'll be honest, broccoli in juice sounded kinda nasty... i like to have it the good ol fashioned way: steamed! You're totally inspiring me - can't wait to get back to the US so I can start juicing, too! (I've had a juicer in my shopping cart at Amazon for nearly a year now)
I'll be coming to you for recipes!!
