what am I waiting for?
On the expert advice of a trusted professional, I am going to sign up for a summer softball league! I used to play all the time growing up; from the time I was old enough to play powder puff through high school and beyond. I ate, drank and slept softball! And I have to say, I was pretty damn good at it, too. My high school coach signed my yearbook,
In the infamous words of the Nike slogan: Just do it! And I shall!!! That being said, I'm going to a sporting goods store this weekend in search of a glove and cleats. Then, I'm going to fork over more money to join the league. GAHHHH!!! I have to admit, I'm nervous, but also excited. I hope they have a practice or two before the season starts.
AND... In the fall, the City and County of Denver will offer a class in sign language that I'm going to sign up for. I've always wanted to learn sign language, and now I shall. It's a 6 week class that'll only cost $25; what a bargain!
So, that's my schpiel. It's been a great day and I feel very blessed to have choices and the freedom to make my own decisions.
Carry on...............

first week
My first week of classes is over. I know it's too early to form an opinion, but I believe I'll like Color Theory better than Critical Thinking, although Critical Thinking will serve me better in life. The teachers are very different and the classroom setting is a big change of pace from my desk-jockeying of the past 20+ years. I believe I'm the oldest in both classes, but I don't care. Who can fault anyone, no matter their age, for wanting to better their lives?
Thursday night, we went to the Soiled Dove Underground to see Andy Grammer, Parachute, Default and Hanson. I was NOT there to see Hanson, however, 75% of the audience seemed to be. I loved Andy Grammer and Default!!! Parachute was OK, but Hanson still chaps my ass after all these years!
Anyway...
I have a busy day today. At 10AM, I am logging on to purchase Journey/Night Ranger/Foreigner tickets; I'm stoked!!!!!!!! I love Love LOVE Journey, and although Steve Perry is no longer with the band, his replacement, Arnel Pineda, sounds so like him, I don't think I'll miss him. I'm strictly there for the music!
Arnel Pineda's Journey
Then, it's grocery shopping this afternoon and Hamilton will stay downtown and hang out with me today. Tonight, a free concert featuring Matt Wertz at the Bluebird Theatre. It's free because Hamilton won tickets last week and he asked if I wanted to go. I love live music and will go at the drop of a hat if I have no previous plans. Hell, if the artist is someone I really want to see, I'll rearrange plans if need be. :D
Tomorrow will be an early night because I'm supposed to be well rested before the dentist on Monday. I'll call Grandma early and take my 'happy pill' early-ish to get some sleep. I have to be at Dr. Stamm's office at 6:45 AM on Monday. Yeah, you read that right. I'll be in the chair for most of the business day because I requested sedation and one visit. I don't care to be at the dentist, but I want a healthy and beautiful smile more.
My schedule is full of stuff during the time I have requested off from work. I think after these three weeks, I'll have found some answers and will be well on my way toward healing my wounded self. I'm very positive and hopeful for this timeframe.
So, until next time, Athena and Jenn (my two readers)...

*love*
2 Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice herbal tea bags (thank you Athena)
+2 packets of Truvia
+2 cups of boiling water
+1 glug of milk
KICK ASS chai-y tea that rivals a $4 cup at Starbucks! It's spicy and sweet and sooo good!!!
Don't get me wrong; I love Starbucks. I'm always looking for ways to save money, especially now that I'm following my creative heart and going back to school, of which paying for is also a creative endeavor.
My first class starts in seven hours. I've been awake for almost 1.5 hours. My body's clock is so screwed up working nights. I think I'll get laundry done now because when I return from my first day at Ai, I'll be physically and mentally exhausted.
Let the games begin!!!
